in 1981, make them games released their first ever product, "Kill Them Bugs" as an arcade game. it was one of the first games to use a trackball pointer for the "bug swatter". it was a hit with arcades across the united states, and when the famicom/ nintendo entertainment system hit store shelves, it was a no-brainer to attempt to port "Kill Them Bugs" to NES. the game had to be reworked to use the NES d-pad instead of the trackball mouse it was known for. this made the game much less popular outside of the fans of the original arcade game. Later, another port was released, for the gameboy and gameboy color, which did slightly better then the nes game, but still wasn’t a huge hit. However, after the Kill them bugs revival in 2025, when the remastered version was released along with the sequel games, the nes version gained a cult like following. this is the original "Kill them bugs!" made for NES, with highscore saving restored, ported to pc.
